Loftus Law enjoys working with other lawyers. We accept select case referrals and co-counsel opportunities from attorneys who need Nevada litigation support, trial capability, or help with matters outside their usual practice area.
Matters Accepted on Referral
Loftus Law considers referrals involving:
- Probate and trust litigation
- Will contests, capacity disputes, and undue influence claims
- Trustee and beneficiary disputes
- Business and real estate litigation
- Contract disputes and judgment collection
- Serious personal injury matters
- Personal injury cases other firms cannot or will not try
We are especially well-suited for matters that require more than routine settlement handling. If a case needs motion practice, evidence development, trial preparation, or a lawyer prepared to step into litigation posture quickly, Loftus Law can help.
Trial Assistance and Co-Counsel Support
Loftus Law provides trial assistance and co-counsel support, including:
- Second-chair trial support
- Motion practice
- Trial preparation
- Arbitration preparation
- Case strategy and evidence development
- Witness preparation
- Assistance with contested hearings
- Support for firms facing a case that will not settle
The goal is to add trial readiness without disrupting the referring attorney’s client relationship.
Fee-Sharing and Referral Arrangements
Referral and co-counsel fee arrangements are structured in a manner consistent with Nevada Rule of Professional Conduct 1.5(e). According to that rule, a division of fees between lawyers who are not in the same firm may be made when the client agrees to the arrangement, the agreement is confirmed in writing, and the total fee is reasonable.
Loftus Law is open to appropriate fee-sharing, co-counsel, and alternative arrangements depending on the matter, the work required, and the client’s needs.
